Minnesota HVAC Rebate Database

A plain-spoken, source-linked record of the heating and cooling incentives Minnesota homeowners can actually use — which programs are active, which have expired, and where to confirm the current amount. We publish a dollar figure only when we can verify it from the official source; everything else links you straight to the provider.

Important 2026 update: the federal HVAC tax credit has expired

The federal Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit (25C) — which offered up to $2,000 toward a qualifying heat pump — was ended early by 2025 legislation and is no longer available for equipment placed in service after December 31, 2025. If you installed qualifying equipment on or before that date, you may still claim it on your 2025 federal return; a tax professional can confirm. For 2026 projects, focus on the Minnesota utility rebates below and watch for the pending state program.

When to re-check

Utility rebate amounts and eligibility change at least once a year — and sometimes mid-year. Always confirm the current figure on the provider's official page (linked with each program) before you purchase, and re-check within the same program year in which you install.

Verification methodology

Each program is listed only when its existence is documented by the official provider. A dollar amount appears only when we can confirm it directly from the provider's official rebate page or the IRS. When a primary source can't be accessed to confirm a current figure, the amount is marked "verify at source" with a direct link, rather than reproduced from second-hand estimates. Expired programs are kept for historical context and clearly labeled. We never estimate, extrapolate, or carry a prior year's amount forward.

Programs & incentives

7 programs tracked. A “verify current amount” link means the program is offered but we have not confirmed the exact figure from the primary source in this review — always check the official page before you buy.
